Well, we’re finally playing L.A.!!! The gigs are a bit of a drive for some of you — especially those in Austria — but I still hope you can make it! We are returning to The Canyon Club and The Coach House on April 28 and 29, respectively. Details are listed below. We are also working on a spring East Coast tour and will let you know as soon as it’s confirmed. Read more
Sang with My Chemical Romance at the Universal Amphitheater last night (Gibson, I believe it’s called now…). The show is KROQ Almost Acoustic Christmas. I couldn’t imagine anything LESS acoustic! Screaming guitars and rock stars abound. We strolled through the hallway of the dressing rooms… Smashing Pumpkins, Cake, etc… a star-studded extravaganza.
I was flooded with memories of playing there with Rickie Lee Jones when I was 21 years old, Al Jarreau a few years later and many more gigs I did there. Feels so good to be part of the roar of the greasepaint, the smell of the crowd! Every time we sing with the band, it seems to gel even more. They’re sweet guys.
I had a very inspiring conversation with someone yesterday, which made me want to write even more…
That’s all for now!
Check out Jimmy Kimmel Live tonight… or TiVo it. I’m going to be singing background vocals with my two girls, Carmen Carter and Lori Perry, with the band My Chemical Romance. The song is cool!
I hope they’re alright with me dancing, because it will be hard not to! Carmen, Lori and I sang in the movie The Princess and the Frog last year, so I’m so excited to sing with them again.
Be back with you soon with more news…
Have a great day!

Vonda got a fun mention in a Dan Hill interview. She’d never heard this story: “When I began touring we needed someone who could replace the role of Vonda Shepard on the song ‘Can’t We Try’,” said Dan Hill. “We were auditioning singers and in walked a very nervous 18-year-old Celine Dion, hoping she could sing the part well enough.”
